Hood cable for the MARK1 (1990-1998)

There are 2  hood tension cables fitted to the MX5. One on each side. If your hood doesn't fit securely over the door glass, it could be because the cables have snapped.
If you are replacing the hood, you may want to replace the cables at the same time, because it is far easier to replace the cables with the hood off the frame.
