The hood does NOT have the seams running down each side of the roof, and so eliminates any concern about the hood splitting around the seams as it gets older. Mohair is used by prestige car makers like Porsche, BMW and Mercedes. An excellent qualty hood. This hood is based on the original style mark 1 design with seams running along each side of the roof but has the zip running around 3/4 of the plastic window. There are 2 main types of mohair on the market - stayfast and twilfast. Stayfast is the thinner, cheaper alternative. An excellent qualty hood. This hood has no seams running along the roof and so eliminates the possibility of water ingress through the seams as the hood gets older. It also has gutters sewn in above the doors to prevent water dripping onto the seats. We believe this is the best hood available for the MX5.
